If you're considering straightening your teeth and are wondering if Invisalign might work for you? The straight answer is, yes! Here's a little from our Langley dentists explaining why.
What Is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a comfortable, easy to use orthodontic treatment option that uses sets of clear custom-made aligners to gradually shift your teeth into the desired position.
Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign's aligners are almost invisible. Gaps between your teeth, crowding of teeth and misalignment issues can all be corrected with Invisalign clear custom aligners.
How Invisalign Works
The clear aligners look similar to the teeth whitening trays that you can get from your dentist.
You begin your Invisalign treatment journey by visiting your dentist and getting dental impressions made of your mouth. Then, using those impressions, Invisalign technicians will create multiple sets of custom aligners to gradually encourage your teeth to move to their new desired positions.
About every two weeks you will switch to a new set of clear aligners until the desired result is achieved, and you have the straight smile you've been dreaming of.
Why Invisalign Works
Essentially, Invisalign works because your aligners will apply consistent, gentle pressure and force on some of your teeth. Rather than moving all of your teeth at once, each phase of your Invisalign treatment focuses on a few of your teeth at a time.
Each tooth will get exactly the right amount of pressure, for the right amount of time, by switching aligners every two weeks.
Your Invisalign treatment will gently moving your teeth and guide them into their new position, leaving you smiling.
