Because Invisalign clear orthodontic aligners are removable there's no need to drastically change your brushing and flossing routine during treatment.
Because Invisalign aligners are removable, there are no extra steps or special tools necessary during your actual brushing and flossing sessions.
Just pop your aligners out, and thoroughly brush and floss your teeth like usual.
There are only a few extra precautions you’ll need to take during treatment, and they’re as follows:
You’ll need to clean your aligners too.
Each time you take out your aligners you need to clean them using soft soap (not toothpaste) and a soft toothbrush.
You also need to soak your aligners regularly in the official Invisalign cleaning crystals, or in Denture cleaner, Retainer Brite, or just white vinegar to remove any buildup and to keep your trays sanitized.
If you don't clean your aligners immediately upon removing them, you’ll have to give them a good rinse.
You’ll need to brush and floss more frequently.
You have to put your aligners right back into your mouth after you finish eating in order to stay on track with your treatment.
You must brush and floss your teeth after each meal before putting your aligners back in. Brushing and flossing is the only way avoid food particles and bacteria getting trapped in the tight spaces between your teeth and aligners.
